There's beauty churning around us every moment....

Who would think you'd find such beauty reflected off the surface of a pond in the heart of Manhattan? The Central Park Pond Series, is indeed, a series of photographs taken from various vantage points around the edge of that historic pond. Skyscrapers reflected can turn into wild abstract paintings. Park goers become the reflected subjects of painterly portraits. Spring blossoms constantly change their shape. Surrounding nature - trees, leaves, rocks, tall grass, the sun, sky and clouds - get abstracted in a myriad of fantastical ways.

One huge factor affecting the tone and mood of an image is, of course, the light and cloud cover on any given day. Also greatly affecting the image is the surface texture of the water which changes due to the wind, the wild life swimming through it and other mysteries bubbling up from below.

A.D. Coleman, the distinguished photography critic and historian, wrote of my Hudson River Series, also photographs of water reflections, "That these sensuous intricacies yield themselves up freely and in infinite variety across the visible world places us squarely in the heart of the miraculous."

57th Street and Central Park Puddle Reflections is a series of portraits taken of passersby replete with complex textures, unusual compositions and reflected sunlight that give the images a chimerical feeling.

Summer Rain 57th Street Manhattan showcases the swirling, cascading rain water that adds complex texture and sheen to the street.

NYC Shadows is classic street photography subverted to be nothing but shadows.

Both Mirror Mirror Series are images gleaned using my own technique.
